Marianna is a professional hacker aka software engineer at MetaGeek, LLC. She interned at MetaGeek as an apprentice hacker during her last semester in school, and she enthusiastically joined the company as a full-time hacker after defending her thesis. Marianna received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in computer science from Boise State
University. When she is not coding, Marianna runs and teaches classes with Girl Develop It Boise, a Boise chapter of a national organization aimed to provide affordable technology classes to women. Marianna is a member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) computing society, a Boise State's Top Ten Scholar, and is the first in Idaho student to
receive the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship since its inception in 2004.

"Girl Develop It Boise is actually the second organization I started.
When still an undergraduate student at Boise State, I started
Association for Computer Machinery Women's (ACM-W) BSU chapter to
support women students in computer science. The women running the
organization now are doing a lot to make sure that women that have
interest or a knack in CS continue pursuing the career."
